Lots of international and hobby beers, but very limited wine selections. A small shopping area for beer & fun candies, desserts. Two walls lined with booth seating are only soft seating with tables and wicker padded chairs filling the dining area, a wee bit crowded together. The bar at this location seems smaller than the 5points location bar. Music plays throughout, sounds like older soft rock selections. Our table was a little sticky, had crumbs from previous diners, but it was just after Saturday's lunch rush - everything else appeared clean, staff was busy cleaning during our meal. Food is always consistently good and well portioned. Offerings of apples, grapes, potato salad, or chips for sandwich sides. Up charges of 50 cents for some. We tried the Jumbo Salted Pretzel Sticks w Beer Cheese - very delicious, hubby favorite. I choose the Blue Max Ruben and hubby had the Ham & Turkey. A must try!! ENJOY!!

I don't know why I always forget about this place?! They always have great food and service. Not to mention, their dessert area always has me drooling!!! We stopped in for dinner Friday night and started with the pretzel appetizer. Man o man were those things good. The pretzels were hot and soft and salty....just how they should be. And the cheese spread that comes with it ain't too shabby either. I ordered the Muffaletta and a side of German Potato Salad. It was delicious. I ended up having enough to even take home for lunch the next day. I will definitely remember them from now on. They are officially back on my radar.

I stopped by a few days ago with my boyfriend since we were in the area and pretty hungry. It wasn't too crowded, and found a comfortable table quickly. Our waitress, Kelly, greeted us within a minute of sitting down. It took me several minutes to finally decide what I wanted, because so many items sounded good! I ended up going with the Muffaletta (ham, salami, provolone, swiss, olive oil, and olive salad mix on ciabatta roll), and it was a great choice! My boyfriend went with the White Russian club, and he enjoyed it as well. The second we walked in I saw the bakery case and knew I was going to have to try something. Upon our waitress's opinion we tried the maple sweet potato cheesecake. Oh my goodness, it was AMAZING! It was a huge slice too, we couldn't even finish it. It was a great dinner and I know we will be back again for another delicious meal.

The Croissant Cordon Blue is the best sandwhich I have ever had. Ever since the first time I had it, I think about it once a day. I should probably not be this attached to it, but it is delicious. This review is strictly for the bakery portion of the restaurant: WOW!!!!! The lemon cream cake was to die for! (i'm not a huge fan of cakes excluding cami cakes). Followed by the bourbon pecan pie....geeze it paired well with coffee for breakfast. They pretty much have any cake you can think of along with huge cookies and rice krispy treats. Even a candy section as well. I was in hog heaven, after searching for places to grab dessert after dinner our server at a nearby restaurant pointed us in this direction. I was extremely please and came two days in row. I will be back for sure....

Oh. My. Gosh. Amazing. Went here to indulge with some dessert and ordered the peanut butter pie. This pie was super yummy and rich and delicious. Glad I ordered milk to go with it (which was served in a tall frozen mug! Such a nice touch!) I have had a lot of peanut butter pies and this one topped them all. If you love chocolate and peanut butter, this is the pie for you. I enjoyed the atmosphere, laid back and casual. Staff was nice. They have a good many beers for sale from different countries, which I thought was cool and some European chocolates and candies for sale too. Only in Jacksonville for this week but will be going back here to try them for lunch!

I am going to give this place 2 stars because I have visited here THREE TIMES and EVERY TIME I visit, the service is SO SLOW. Okay, I'm done with caps now, but seriously. The food is good, but the service will have you sitting for forever just waiting for your drinks/food. During my first visit to this establishment, our waiter even forgot to ring in our appetizer?! That has never happened to me... It ended up working out because our sandwiches were larger and more filling than we expected. Which is awesome, but the food really is the only reason why I came back to this place. Very very very slow and poor service from him. During my second visit, it was loud, stuffy, and we received slow and poor service again. I then started to regret our decision of coming back. Yet, the food is still very good. The only reason why I visited the third time is because I was craving something light, and I had a COUPON :-) Buy one entree, get one free. You can't beat that! Our waitress and trainee were very nice, and were more delightful than our past servers, but they were still a little slow... I will say, if it weren't from them, my third trip would've been my last trip. I would recommend this place to someone if they were looking to pick up a couple sandwiches for to-go, but I would not recommend for dining in. Also, they have a small liquor store inside. many wines and craft beers from Europe inside. They have pre-made cakes, as well as a small selection of candies near the check-out register.

My server surprised me that I was getting happy hour pricing even though I ordered prior to the published time, which is bogo! Awesome!!! Eh. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of this place, and the beer selection (and beer list challenge) is fantastic, great selection of international beers. However, the food always comes out looking gross, like it was out of the microwave. Service almost always leaves something to be desired as well. I would come back, but would probably sit at the bar without ordering food. If you are seeking European beer this is a great place to be, but otherwise it is far from special.

Been going for several years, love the food. However, our last visit was well much different as we had issues with the service and establishment. Service was terrible even though not much was going on. I saw our waitress do everything except wait on us. When we finally ordered (which took about 20 minutes), we asked for gluten free crackers in place of the appetizer crackers(we have always asked for this without any upcharge). She said and I quote "There will be an up charge for the crackers, you ok with that?". I said no we were not ok with that. We have always ordered this type of appetizer with GF crackers. I asked that she let her manager know and to come over. When we received our food, we also asked for extra dressing but never saw that. When she came back to give us the check, the extra charge was on there but we never spoke to a manager nor did he/she ever come over to speak to us. We went to pay the cashier and ask about the charge. The cashier was standoffish and told us that was their policy. We kept talking and she said that they don't charge for the GL wraps (which they clearly state on the menu and we have always paid that upcharge). I told the cashier ESC always has and the charge was also on our bill. How can you argue that when it was on the bill? We sent a message to ESC via their website and the reply was "that's our policy". Long time customer no more. Sadly disappointed that ESC can't be known as a GF friendly restaurant without nickel and diming.

Been here many many times. Comfort food, Euro deli food, Vegan food, hundreds of beers and wines, it's all very good and reasonably priced. Especially love the Shakti vegan food. Not easy to fond that sort of thing. On the other hand we also love the fat Reuben variations. The healthy options are well marked on the menu and are also real good. It's a lil annoying that they refuse to punch their frequent flyer app if you use a coupon. Smacks of a lack of customer appreciation. Not that you feel that from the servers. They're all nice. The wine selection is nice and it only costs 10$ to have a bottle with dinner. That's sort of special.

This is one of my favorite places in Jax Bch, and any E-Street is a favorite place in Jacksonville. I've been eating and drinking at E-Street since the early 90's. The menus (beer and food) have changed as times and tastes dictate, but the goodies have always remained. E-Street restaurants are family owned and operated with a mother, brother, or sister at each location. They know what they are doing, work hard and it shows.

First time at this location. Walking in I disliked the smell, sort of like slightly sour carpet. It took about 5 minutes before a server came to the table. He was very helpful, funny and attentative after that. I was with friends who come there often and they suggested the Turkey Parisian. I was a little nervous about the raspberry sauce but wanted to try something new anyway so I ordered it on the side. It. Was. Amazing! I put the sauce all over it. I got American potato salad as a side but it was not good. I will now try any sandwich with brie on it. Will certainly be back!

I've been down this street before. For a Valentine's lunch date, it was a departure from our normal street (Maple, that is) to try to have something a little on the lighter side. E Street offers a wide variety of sandwiches: heros, clubs, reubens, pita pockets, and German Sausage as well. Their dessert case is one to be ogled at as well. Their beer list is impressive and they have a good selection of local brews on tap. Thumbs up for being able to order a 10 oz vs. a full 16. Their food is good, but I can't say I've had anything truly blow me away. When I heard one of the soups was Chicken & Dumplings, the only other decision I had was on what half of sandwich I wanted. I went with the chicken salad on toasted rye. The sandwich was stacked high with chicken salad that was full of large chunks of chicken (which I appreciate) and just the right amount of mayo in the dressing. The soup was delicious and warmed me up on this cold day. Could have used a little more spice (pepper or something) for my personal preference, but not too shabby at all. We passed on dessert today as I had to make it back to the office for a meeting, but I've loved all the cake slices we've ever had in the past. Next time I'm in the mood for a good sandwich and I want to keep it local (which I always try to do), I'll have to remember E Street is the place to be.

Stopped in for lunch today. This is a nice little place didn't seem to busy. Menu had a lot of choices but went with the turkey bacon wrap. Seemed like forever for us to get our food. Alot longer then u would think for a sandwich type place. When food arrived everything looked good and was fresh. The wrap was a little dry for me. Wish it woukd have had some mayo or pesto or something just to give it some extra punch. The chips were good and service was on par. Will definitely be back to try out more of there menu just wasn't blown away this time.

I love getting schmitt-faced here. And by that I mean I like eating Dunderschmitt Heroes and drinking craft beer at this restaurant. European Street is a cool local restaurant/bakery/beer store. There's nothing quite like it in Jax. There are probably 4 or 5 around town with the same menu. E street specializes in heroes, clubs, pitas, Ruebens, and monster German wieners - sandwiches of sorts. I've never had my socks blown off per se, but I can honestly say I've never had anything I didn't like. My go-to is the Dunderschmitt, which is a double order of smoked pastrami, prosciutto, ham, spicy mustard and cream cheese - which I like to get on the honey dark-wheat roll. It's a game changer. The Reubens are STACKED with corned beef, pastrami, turkey or a combination of meats. I'd highly recommend those. They also have a similar sandwich called the Blue Max that is killer. It's about 4 inches tall and loaded with smoked pastrami and hot mustard, corned beef, melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and blue cheese dressing. The beer selection is good. They have about 20 taps at this location which rotate local beers, national craft brands, and a decent selection of Belgian beers. They do a 2-for-1 happy hour every day until 7PM, which actually makes it an affordable spot to swill normally expensive brews. The wait staff is always really friendly. The bar staff is great as well, and is quick to help make recommendations for beer. Check out the selection of bombers and 6-packs on the way out. Cheers!

This is a good option if you are hungry and looking for some traditional sandwiches or German dishes. Most of the options are very good here. Opt to get a sandwich on a croissant - they are delicious. The princess Anna or chicken salad sandwich are great. I also love that you have the option to get a German sausage plate. I feel like pretty much anyone can find something here. Oh, and tons of beer options!! The downside? The tabouli bread bowl is awful and the beer cheese soup is way too thick. Other than that, you probably can't go wrong here!

I've heard this place was quite the hangout twenty years ago. There are tired, fake purple flowers lining the dusty window sills and a slight stale odor in the air where new plastic menus seem to be the only updated items in the place. My friend and I visited the other day and we both ordered salads. My companion's spicy buffalo chicken salad was overwhelmed by jalapeños and seemingly canned chicken, obviously the lettuce wasn't properly washed or cut, and it was very gritty. She tried valiantly to eat her lunch, but after a while she said she was unable to enjoy it and asked for the menu to order something else. The nice server named Michelle, came back from the kitchen saying the kitchen manager would still be charging her for the salad as she ate too much of it. My friend had not asked for it to be removed from the tab and was a little surprised to hear this. The slider sandwich she subsequently ordered to eat, arrived with mayo which she had asked to have removed. Not a very good experience, and not only that, the reluctance of the management to make the customer happy just left us wanting to leave and never return. We won't be back, very unsatisfactory.

We found European Street Cafe wile visiting Jacksonville and looking for something different. The interior is part market with a huge selection of beer, wine and sweets. There is a wooden bar stuck awkwardly in the front with the back set up like a cafeteria style dining room. Its too bad the dining room doesn't look more like the bar with dark furniture and dimmer lighting. I did like that they have happy hour going on most of the time, or at least until 7pm. Our server was new, he admitted it was his third shift, and was no help at all when it came to picking menu items. Train your employees more thoroughly European Street Cafe! He was a nice guy, and I'm glad he admitted his ignorance rather than blunder through it, but he was useless in negotiating the large beer selection. We started with the beer cheese soup which hit the spot on this chilly evening. The soup was just OK, the best part of it were the pretzel bread sticks that came with it. I ordered the croissant cordon bleu with a side of American potato salad. Both were very good and filling. My husbands muffaletta was so big he had to take half home, something I rarely see him do! European Street Cafe was going to be a four star review... until we tried their desserts. We picked a sample of their delicious looking cakes to try. We took home a key lime cheesecake, Italian lemon cream cake, an giant Oreo cookie, and a huge slice of chocolate cake. We also picked up some Dead Guy Ale and Arrogant Bastard Brew. My husband said the cream on the cheesecake tasted like it had turned and gagged after taking a bite. My Italian cream cake had a good flavor but was dry (like it had been sitting out too long). The chocolate cake was best of the three but was also on the dry side. The cookie wasn't great either. All of the desserts looked better than they tasted. I learned that they are not made in house. Maybe between delivery of the cakes and the restaurants open display the items dry out? Either way I'd stick to the food and beer and avoid the sweets. Too bad...

I think I've been to just about all European streets and love it. My usual is the fiery turkey sandwich on the dark wheat, it's amazing. Turkey, spicy mustard, jalepenos...all served with potato chips. I don't eat chips often so this is my exception....and they are so worth it. Other things I've tried are the Rueben, pizza thing (pepperoni, cheese, chiabatta), pretzel sticks, etc. They also have many beers to choose from. The atmosphere is laid back, a good place to have a convo with friends. The prices are cheap. It's just worth the trip.

This location is closest to my house, and it's a great place to sit outside and drink the day away. Just far enough off the beach that you won't ever really feel crowded, with a covered patio to keep you shaded from the scorching Florida sun. The staff is always friendly and service is consistent, especially when they know you get drunk and leave big tips! I've never had bad food at E-Street, but probably 3/4 of the menu is sandwiches (or wraps, pitas, etc.) which unfortunately often suffer from TMI: Too Much Iceberg (aka "Subway Syndrome"). For grain-avoidant folks they do have generously portioned salads (both meaty and meat-free) and even a few raw vegan options. I usually make a meal out of the warm brie & apple slices. They also sell bags of locally made kale chips (at the front counter, ironically placed near bags of candy). Speaking of the front counter: looks are deceiving. The whole display of desserts looks super impressive -- it does remind me of European confectionary shops -- but to be honest everything I've sampled has let me down in some way. Mostly because it feels like something I could make at home. I've definitely made better rice krispie treats back in the day, and the tiramisu I had was actually dry. The cookies are big enough to satisfy a sweet tooth, and pretty good if you ask for them microwaved, but the flavor is unremarkable. So anyway, the food is all right, but I think the main reason you should come to E-Street is for beer. They often have beers on tap that can be somewhat hard to find on tap in Florida, like (some of my favorites) Bell's Two Hearted, Delerium Tremens, and Hitachino White Ale. If you find a beer you really like, you can buy as much as you want in bottles to take home, since they have a small grocery section in the restaurant. E-Street also offers a few varieties of cider and gluten-free beer. If you're a drunk who needs a challenge, there's The List. Travel around the world with beer and drink everything on The List to win fame and glory (and some kickass rewards). Exceptionally tenacious drunks are rewarded with... more lists. Protip: Nobody likes Samichlaus, but drinking it is a rite of passage. Get it out of the way ASAP.

Yum!!! Walking into European Street Cafe, it's a lot different than I imagined. It's part bar, part restaurant, part bakery, and little market. The street cafe has a very whimsical vibe with wicker basket decorations and flowery European paintings. For appetizers, PLEASE get the jumbo German pretzel sticks with the boursin spread or cheddar cheese spread. The ciabatta & boursin sandwich appetizer is also really good, if you're into olives. It's definitely something light, but very delicious to eat and not get full before your main course. Brie and beef is a great hot sandwich! Get the au jus for an extra $0.50, and it's so juicy! Get the M&M explosion cookie! Just microwave it for 30 seconds and it tastes like it was freshly baked! The staff was super friendly and fairly attentive to refills and bringing the food around.

Stopped in for lunch today. This is a nice little place didn't seem to busy. Menu had a lot of choices but went with the turkey bacon wrap. Seemed like forever for us to get our food. Alot longer then u would think for a sandwich type place. When food arrived everything looked good and was fresh. The wrap was a little dry for me. Wish it woukd have had some mayo or pesto or something just to give it some extra punch. The chips were good and service was on par. Will definitely be back to try out more of there menu just wasn't blown away this time.

I love getting schmitt-faced here. And by that I mean I like eating Dunderschmitt Heroes and drinking craft beer at this restaurant. European Street is a cool local restaurant/bakery/beer store. There's nothing quite like it in Jax. There are probably 4 or 5 around town with the same menu. E street specializes in heroes, clubs, pitas, Ruebens, and monster German wieners - sandwiches of sorts. I've never had my socks blown off per se, but I can honestly say I've never had anything I didn't like. My go-to is the Dunderschmitt, which is a double order of smoked pastrami, prosciutto, ham, spicy mustard and cream cheese - which I like to get on the honey dark-wheat roll. It's a game changer. The Reubens are STACKED with corned beef, pastrami, turkey or a combination of meats. I'd highly recommend those. They also have a similar sandwich called the Blue Max that is killer. It's about 4 inches tall and loaded with smoked pastrami and hot mustard, corned beef, melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and blue cheese dressing. The beer selection is good. They have about 20 taps at this location which rotate local beers, national craft brands, and a decent selection of Belgian beers. They do a 2-for-1 happy hour every day until 7PM, which actually makes it an affordable spot to swill normally expensive brews. The wait staff is always really friendly. The bar staff is great as well, and is quick to help make recommendations for beer. Check out the selection of bombers and 6-packs on the way out. Cheers!

This review is strictly for the bakery portion of the restaurant: WOW!!!!! The lemon cream cake was to die for! (i'm not a huge fan of cakes excluding cami cakes). Followed by the bourbon pecan pie....geeze it paired well with coffee for breakfast. They pretty much have any cake you can think of along with huge cookies and rice krispy treats. Even a candy section as well. I was in hog heaven, after searching for places to grab dessert after dinner our server at a nearby restaurant pointed us in this direction. I was extremely please and came two days in row. I will be back for sure....

Oh. My. Gosh. Amazing. Went here to indulge with some dessert and ordered the peanut butter pie. This pie was super yummy and rich and delicious. Glad I ordered milk to go with it (which was served in a tall frozen mug! Such a nice touch!) I have had a lot of peanut butter pies and this one topped them all. If you love chocolate and peanut butter, this is the pie for you. I enjoyed the atmosphere, laid back and casual. Staff was nice. They have a good many beers for sale from different countries, which I thought was cool and some European chocolates and candies for sale too. Only in Jacksonville for this week but will be going back here to try them for lunch!

I am going to give this place 2 stars because I have visited here THREE TIMES and EVERY TIME I visit, the service is SO SLOW. Okay, I'm done with caps now, but seriously. The food is good, but the service will have you sitting for forever just waiting for your drinks/food. During my first visit to this establishment, our waiter even forgot to ring in our appetizer?! That has never happened to me... It ended up working out because our sandwiches were larger and more filling than we expected. Which is awesome, but the food really is the only reason why I came back to this place. Very very very slow and poor service from him. During my second visit, it was loud, stuffy, and we received slow and poor service again. I then started to regret our decision of coming back. Yet, the food is still very good. The only reason why I visited the third time is because I was craving something light, and I had a COUPON :-) Buy one entree, get one free. You can't beat that! Our waitress and trainee were very nice, and were more delightful than our past servers, but they were still a little slow... I will say, if it weren't from them, my third trip would've been my last trip. I would recommend this place to someone if they were looking to pick up a couple sandwiches for to-go, but I would not recommend for dining in. Also, they have a small liquor store inside. many wines and craft beers from Europe inside. They have pre-made cakes, as well as a small selection of candies near the check-out register.

My server surprised me that I was getting happy hour pricing even though I ordered prior to the published time, which is bogo! Awesome!!! Eh. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of this place, and the beer selection (and beer list challenge) is fantastic, great selection of international beers. However, the food always comes out looking gross, like it was out of the microwave. Service almost always leaves something to be desired as well. I would come back, but would probably sit at the bar without ordering food. If you are seeking European beer this is a great place to be, but otherwise it is far from special.

I stopped by a few days ago with my boyfriend since we were in the area and pretty hungry. It wasn't too crowded, and found a comfortable table quickly. Our waitress, Kelly, greeted us within a minute of sitting down. It took me several minutes to finally decide what I wanted, because so many items sounded good! I ended up going with the Muffaletta (ham, salami, provolone, swiss, olive oil, and olive salad mix on ciabatta roll), and it was a great choice! My boyfriend went with the White Russian club, and he enjoyed it as well. The second we walked in I saw the bakery case and knew I was going to have to try something. Upon our waitress's opinion we tried the maple sweet potato cheesecake. Oh my goodness, it was AMAZING! It was a huge slice too, we couldn't even finish it. It was a great dinner and I know we will be back again for another delicious meal.

Been going for several years, love the food. However, our last visit was well much different as we had issues with the service and establishment. Service was terrible even though not much was going on. I saw our waitress do everything except wait on us. When we finally ordered (which took about 20 minutes), we asked for gluten free crackers in place of the appetizer crackers(we have always asked for this without any upcharge). She said and I quote "There will be an up charge for the crackers, you ok with that?". I said no we were not ok with that. We have always ordered this type of appetizer with GF crackers. I asked that she let her manager know and to come over. When we received our food, we also asked for extra dressing but never saw that. When she came back to give us the check, the extra charge was on there but we never spoke to a manager nor did he/she ever come over to speak to us. We went to pay the cashier and ask about the charge. The cashier was standoffish and told us that was their policy. We kept talking and she said that they don't charge for the GL wraps (which they clearly state on the menu and we have always paid that upcharge). I told the cashier ESC always has and the charge was also on our bill. How can you argue that when it was on the bill? We sent a message to ESC via their website and the reply was "that's our policy". Long time customer no more. Sadly disappointed that ESC can't be known as a GF friendly restaurant without nickel and diming.

Been here many many times. Comfort food, Euro deli food, Vegan food, hundreds of beers and wines, it's all very good and reasonably priced. Especially love the Shakti vegan food. Not easy to fond that sort of thing. On the other hand we also love the fat Reuben variations. The healthy options are well marked on the menu and are also real good. It's a lil annoying that they refuse to punch their frequent flyer app if you use a coupon. Smacks of a lack of customer appreciation. Not that you feel that from the servers. They're all nice. The wine selection is nice and it only costs 10$ to have a bottle with dinner. That's sort of special.

This is a good option if you are hungry and looking for some traditional sandwiches or German dishes. Most of the options are very good here. Opt to get a sandwich on a croissant - they are delicious. The princess Anna or chicken salad sandwich are great. I also love that you have the option to get a German sausage plate. I feel like pretty much anyone can find something here. Oh, and tons of beer options!! The downside? The tabouli bread bowl is awful and the beer cheese soup is way too thick. Other than that, you probably can't go wrong here!

I've heard this place was quite the hangout twenty years ago. There are tired, fake purple flowers lining the dusty window sills and a slight stale odor in the air where new plastic menus seem to be the only updated items in the place. My friend and I visited the other day and we both ordered salads. My companion's spicy buffalo chicken salad was overwhelmed by jalapeños and seemingly canned chicken, obviously the lettuce wasn't properly washed or cut, and it was very gritty. She tried valiantly to eat her lunch, but after a while she said she was unable to enjoy it and asked for the menu to order something else. The nice server named Michelle, came back from the kitchen saying the kitchen manager would still be charging her for the salad as she ate too much of it. My friend had not asked for it to be removed from the tab and was a little surprised to hear this. The slider sandwich she subsequently ordered to eat, arrived with mayo which she had asked to have removed. Not a very good experience, and not only that, the reluctance of the management to make the customer happy just left us wanting to leave and never return. We won't be back, very unsatisfactory.

We found European Street Cafe wile visiting Jacksonville and looking for something different. The interior is part market with a huge selection of beer, wine and sweets. There is a wooden bar stuck awkwardly in the front with the back set up like a cafeteria style dining room. Its too bad the dining room doesn't look more like the bar with dark furniture and dimmer lighting. I did like that they have happy hour going on most of the time, or at least until 7pm. Our server was new, he admitted it was his third shift, and was no help at all when it came to picking menu items. Train your employees more thoroughly European Street Cafe! He was a nice guy, and I'm glad he admitted his ignorance rather than blunder through it, but he was useless in negotiating the large beer selection. We started with the beer cheese soup which hit the spot on this chilly evening. The soup was just OK, the best part of it were the pretzel bread sticks that came with it. I ordered the croissant cordon bleu with a side of American potato salad. Both were very good and filling. My husbands muffaletta was so big he had to take half home, something I rarely see him do! European Street Cafe was going to be a four star review... until we tried their desserts. We picked a sample of their delicious looking cakes to try. We took home a key lime cheesecake, Italian lemon cream cake, an giant Oreo cookie, and a huge slice of chocolate cake. We also picked up some Dead Guy Ale and Arrogant Bastard Brew. My husband said the cream on the cheesecake tasted like it had turned and gagged after taking a bite. My Italian cream cake had a good flavor but was dry (like it had been sitting out too long). The chocolate cake was best of the three but was also on the dry side. The cookie wasn't great either. All of the desserts looked better than they tasted. I learned that they are not made in house. Maybe between delivery of the cakes and the restaurants open display the items dry out? Either way I'd stick to the food and beer and avoid the sweets. Too bad...

The restaurant has a wide variety of menu items and has beer choices from around the world to try. The desserts are delicious and made in house. I think I've been to just about all European streets and love it. My usual is the fiery turkey sandwich on the dark wheat, it's amazing. Turkey, spicy mustard, jalepenos...all served with potato chips. I don't eat chips often so this is my exception....and they are so worth it. Other things I've tried are the Rueben, pizza thing (pepperoni, cheese, chiabatta), pretzel sticks, etc. They also have many beers to choose from. The atmosphere is laid back, a good place to have a convo with friends. The prices are cheap. It's just worth the trip.

Yum!!! Walking into European Street Cafe, it's a lot different than I imagined. It's part bar, part restaurant, part bakery, and little market. The street cafe has a very whimsical vibe with wicker basket decorations and flowery European paintings. For appetizers, PLEASE get the jumbo German pretzel sticks with the boursin spread or cheddar cheese spread. The ciabatta & boursin sandwich appetizer is also really good, if you're into olives. It's definitely something light, but very delicious to eat and not get full before your main course. Brie and beef is a great hot sandwich! Get the au jus for an extra $0.50, and it's so juicy! Get the M&M explosion cookie! Just microwave it for 30 seconds and it tastes like it was freshly baked! The staff was super friendly and fairly attentive to refills and bringing the food around.

This location is closest to my house, and it's a great place to sit outside and drink the day away. Just far enough off the beach that you won't ever really feel crowded, with a covered patio to keep you shaded from the scorching Florida sun. The staff is always friendly and service is consistent, especially when they know you get drunk and leave big tips! I've never had bad food at E-Street, but probably 3/4 of the menu is sandwiches (or wraps, pitas, etc.) which unfortunately often suffer from TMI: Too Much Iceberg (aka "Subway Syndrome"). For grain-avoidant folks they do have generously portioned salads (both meaty and meat-free) and even a few raw vegan options. I usually make a meal out of the warm brie & apple slices. They also sell bags of locally made kale chips (at the front counter, ironically placed near bags of candy). Speaking of the front counter: looks are deceiving. The whole display of desserts looks super impressive -- it does remind me of European confectionary shops -- but to be honest everything I've sampled has let me down in some way. Mostly because it feels like something I could make at home. I've definitely made better rice krispie treats back in the day, and the tiramisu I had was actually dry. The cookies are big enough to satisfy a sweet tooth, and pretty good if you ask for them microwaved, but the flavor is unremarkable. So anyway, the food is all right, but I think the main reason you should come to E-Street is for beer. They often have beers on tap that can be somewhat hard to find on tap in Florida, like (some of my favorites) Bell's Two Hearted, Delerium Tremens, and Hitachino White Ale. If you find a beer you really like, you can buy as much as you want in bottles to take home, since they have a small grocery section in the restaurant. E-Street also offers a few varieties of cider and gluten-free beer. If you're a drunk who needs a challenge, there's The List. Travel around the world with beer and drink everything on The List to win fame and glory (and some kickass rewards). Exceptionally tenacious drunks are rewarded with... more lists. Protip: Nobody likes Samichlaus, but drinking it is a rite of passage. Get it out of the way ASAP.

This is one of my favorite places in Jax Bch, and any E-Street is a favorite place in Jacksonville. I've been eating and drinking at E-Street since the early 90's. The menus (beer and food) have changed as times and tastes dictate, but the goodies have always remained. E-Street restaurants are family owned and operated with a mother, brother, or sister at each location. They know what they are doing, work hard and it shows.

I usually love this place but this location has a horrible manager: I ordered the Mediterranean Sampler. It did not taste good at all so, I told the waiter that I wanted to exchange it for another item. About 10 minutes later a lady came out this was the exchange: Manager: "Since there was nothing wrong with the food I am going to have to charge you for the sampler and whatever else you order." Me: "It didn't taste good, I should not have to pay for it." Manager: "Well, this is out policy. Just because you didn't like it, that doesn't mean there was anything wrong with it so you still have to pay for it." I was shocked, the manager was so rude and unapologetic! I usually love European Street and it makes me sad that the service is going downhill!

OMG- $3 mimosas and fantastic sandwiches on a covered patio on a beautiful Jax Beach day?! I'm so there... We made our first European Street Cafe trip last week and it was awesome. We sat out on the patio as it was a BEAUTIFUL day and were very excited to hear that it was happy hour! 2 for 1 beers and dollar off mimosas. Umm yes please. Hubby and cousins ordered blue moons and I went for the mimosa. Service was awesome, wish I could remember her name to recommend but I was in a food-mimosa haze. I ordered the Turkey & swiss croissant- turkey, melted swiss, lettuce, tomato, & mayo served on a croissant. There are not words. It was SO good. Melty, buttery, meaty, cheesy- everythingggy! Hubby ordered the Princess Anna- grilled chicken, bacon, melted cheese, lettuce & tomato. Also fantasmic. And then when we thought we had already discovered our new favorite lunch spot, I walk inside and notice the array of baked goods. Oh I was in trouble. Had to get me a chocolate chip, pecan cookie to go and it was theeee best. Basically- great food, great service, cheap drinks- what more could you ask for? Go, go now, run dont walk!

Overall good experience with my first visit to ESC on Beach Blvd. Service was good and food was tasty. Well priced for what is served. The only detractor was the kielbasa on my sandwich was a bit chewy, possibly from soaking a touch too long in broth. Trivia was firing up as I was leaving for those interested.

Great beer selection, but you'll pay... $7 for limited selection of 22 oz drafts. All this was fine, but if you sit in the bar area but not at the bar be prepared to flag down the bartender..... I hate to hit this place with 2 stars because I really want to like them, but the problem is there's a disconnect between concept and execution. The decor starts out promising (bar and bakery area) and quickly deteriorates to mid-80s Morrison's, heavy on the mauve. The atmosphere shoots for a European vibe but doesn't really get there. The bar is straight-up gorgeous and the bakery counter is lovely, but the rest just kills all their hard work. I have never set foot in that place when there has not been at least one exceptionally ill-behaved child screaming or running or otherwise behaving in a fashion that would have resulted in pink cheeks had I done it growing up. If you have such a child, hurry here, as you will be welcomed warmly by your people. If you do not, well, you'll feel like you do. Every time I've been there, we've had to wait a ridiculously long time for just about everything. The servers are always nice, polite, and helpful when I can find them, but they are missing more often than I would like. The beer selection is unparalleled and I would go just for that. The beer cheese soup is fabulous if you can get it at a reasonable temperature. The first time we went, it was like napalm and almost caused serious harm. However, it's a cheese soup so we ought to have had better sense than just to shovel on in without a temp test. Once it cooled down all at the table LOVED it. Unfortunately, though, the second time we got it, it was barely room temperature, so much so that the cheese was still shredded and not melted. I sent it back, and got the exact same thing on the second try, so I gave up and chewed the chunks. Not nearly as tasty. Next time I might just get the food to go so I can nuke it if necessary, because it really IS good when it's perfectly hot and melty and delicious, especially with a lovely pretzel breadstick. Speaking of those, they're delicious, but skip the cheese spreads. Yuck. Processed "cheese food" all the way, and refrigerator cold to boot. Take the breadsticks to go and smear on some Laughing Cow and you'll be happier. The hummus platter is huge and worthy of sharing, but nothing particularly outstanding in terms of quality. My guess would be a purchased hummus product but I can't swear to it. It's served with some nice veg and warm pita, so I'm not overly offended. I had a monster German wiener once and a sandwich I can't specifically recall the other time, and neither really caused a strong reaction. The monster wiener is a massive hotdog, and it is truly massive, but not exceptionally high-quality. Given the choice I'd just get Nathan's next time. The sandwiches ARE good though, just not so exceptional as to cause me to gush. If you can't find something you like on the menu, though, there's just no pleasing you, because it is HUGE. My last, and perhaps most important bit of advice, is to WALK PAST THE BAKERY. DO NOT STOP. The cookies are stunning. They are tempting. They look like the very promise of childhood sugar-soaked fantasies come to life. The reality is that the cost approximately $4 apiece and taste like that funky refrigerator smell that you buy baking soda to prevent. Talk about a letdown. I can eat darn near anything sugary and I had to give up and throw mine out. Sigh. Quick and dirty: go for the beer, the beer cheese soup (careful with the temp), and a sandwich. If you're looking for something else this may not be your best choice.

Always a favorite place in Jacksonville to go. There are lots of locations around Jacksonville so I suggest you check them out. This location offers lovely outdoor seating in a beach atmosphere and is very casual. To start, the beer is selection is fantastic with an extensive list (about four pages, small print) from around the world. They also have a grocery where you can buy specialty beer, wine, and candy. They also have a rating system for the beer that hasn't steered me wrong yet. Very helpful. They also have happy hours every day, and a bar, so if you're just ready to grab a good beer with some friends, I would recommend this place. Dining in, you can go one of two ways with the menu, trying their deli sandwiches or their selection of German sausages. It really depends what you like, but you'll be able to find something to enjoy on the menu. I always get their brie appetizer as well, because the way they present it with freshly baked bread and apple slices really is a treat when coming here. The brie is of excellent quality and it's always a fight with whoever I'm with for the last bite. My roommate always gets their version of the classic pastrami on Rye, the Blue Max sandwich. I had it the last time we went and I have to say that it's pretty incredible. Their sauerkraut is the best, not too wet, yet maintaining its perfect flavor. All sandwiches are served with a pickle and chips, and are very substantial. The service was great and our waiter was very friendly and patient with us. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was lively and well staffed. A solid four stars for this establishment.

Eh..... I rarely eat here because the food is not that memorable. I had the turkey rueben, and it was good. My wife and I split a mozzerella and tomatoe salad...it was ok. And she had a turkey salad.....again, it was just ok. We were starving so we ate everything, but we would not have gone if we didn't have a coupon. So..... we probably won't go back unless we are desperate or have a coupon. Good beer selection, though.

I didn't know that this place had other locations until we sat down. This location is close to where we live. We found out about this place by just driving down Beach. Anyways, I really enjoyed this place. My husband and I went for dinner, but we think its more of a lunch type place cause they mostly sell sandwiches and salads. The service was excellent, the food came out quickly and hot, and our drinks kept getting filled. Nice. The inside is very interesting. When you walk in, to your left is a full on bar (which they have happy hour from 2-7pm everyday) and to your right they sell cookies and cakes/pies. The restaurant portion is in the back. And they do have outside seating. What we ordered: I had the Brie and Beef which was Melted French Brie cheese, roast beef, lettuce, tomato and onion on Italian ciabatta roll. Served hot. This sandwich was very very good =0) I enjoyed it. It comes with potato chips on the side. My husband had a cup of chicken and dumpling soup which was very good, and the Blue Max Sandwich which was Smoked pastrami and hot mustard, corned beef, melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and blue cheese dressing. Served hot. My husband loved this sandwich! All dishes are pretty big, so I recommend sharing a dish. Prices arn't too bad either.

Just ate here on Tuesday for the first time. I had a Bratwurst and Pastrami sandwich and slice of Italian Lemon cream cake. The food was excellent. Dessert prices are a little steeper than I expected but I'll definitely be going back to sample more of the menu!

Love it!! We come here all the time to eat. It's definitely a favorite for everyone. The scoops of chicken salad with crackers are great for picky children. Sandwiches are huge, always enough to take home for later. It's laid back with a great beer and food selection. There's something on the menu for everyone. Also excellent desserts. They have specialty candy, wines and beers and food items for sale at the front too. I always get a chocolate bar on the way out.

Another great example of terrible service. Walked in and waited for 5 minutes (sign says to seat yourself), and no one bothered to come by. Let's see how long I will wait... Ok, so after 7 minutes, some guy yelled at me from about 20 feet away as he was walking somewhere else, but I was typing. Then he came to my table and put the menu down and in a weird way, said, "hi. Welcome." He described the specials and said, "hollar if you need anything." Wow, this place has vegan food (which I like), but an apathetic attitude in place of customer service. I am going to try their other two locations to see if the others are just as bad on service (I have been to one other and their service was bad too.) This establishment is one of the worst for service I have ever seen. I can't imagine how they can stay in business. DEAR MANAGEMENT: I work as a customer service consultant/trainer, and I would be happy to help your restaurants. I change $100 per hour and I am confident I can at the very minimum create a plan for you to improve. Quaint beach location deli with a very interesting & unique menu from your everyday sandwich deli. Experience eclectic decor in a fun casual environment. Lots of international and hobby beers, but very limited wine selections. A small shopping area for beer & fun candies, desserts. Two walls lined with booth seating are only soft seating with tables and wicker padded chairs filling the dining area, a wee bit crowded together. The bar at this location seems smaller than the 5points location bar. Music plays throughout, sounds like older soft rock selections. Our table was a little sticky, had crumbs from previous diners, but it was just after Saturday's lunch rush - everything else appeared clean, staff was busy cleaning during our meal. Food is always consistently good and well portioned. Offerings of apples, grapes, potato salad, or chips for sandwich sides. Up charges of 50 cents for some. We tried the Jumbo Salted Pretzel Sticks w Beer Cheese - very delicious, hubby favorite. I choose the Blue Max Ruben and hubby had the Ham & Turkey. A must try!! ENJOY!!

I don't know why I always forget about this place?! They always have great food and service. Not to mention, their dessert area always has me drooling!!! We stopped in for dinner Friday night and started with the pretzel appetizer. Man o man were those things good. The pretzels were hot and soft and salty....just how they should be. And the cheese spread that comes with it ain't too shabby either. I ordered the Muffaletta and a side of German Potato Salad. It was delicious. I ended up having enough to even take home for lunch the next day. I will definitely remember them from now on. They are officially back on my radar.

I stopped by a few days ago with my boyfriend since we were in the area and pretty hungry. It wasn't too crowded, and found a comfortable table quickly. Our waitress, Kelly, greeted us within a minute of sitting down. It took me several minutes to finally decide what I wanted, because so many items sounded good! I ended up going with the Muffaletta (ham, salami, provolone, swiss, olive oil, and olive salad mix on ciabatta roll), and it was a great choice! My boyfriend went with the White Russian club, and he enjoyed it as well. The second we walked in I saw the bakery case and knew I was going to have to try something. Upon our waitress's opinion we tried the maple sweet potato cheesecake. Oh my goodness, it was AMAZING! It was a huge slice too, we couldn't even finish it. It was a great dinner and I know we will be back again for another delicious meal.

The Croissant Cordon Blue is the best sandwhich I have ever had. Ever since the first time I had it, I think about it once a day. I should probably not be this attached to it, but it is delicious. This review is strictly for the bakery portion of the restaurant: WOW!!!!! The lemon cream cake was to die for! (i'm not a huge fan of cakes excluding cami cakes). Followed by the bourbon pecan pie....geeze it paired well with coffee for breakfast. They pretty much have any cake you can think of along with huge cookies and rice krispy treats. Even a candy section as well. I was in hog heaven, after searching for places to grab dessert after dinner our server at a nearby restaurant pointed us in this direction. Oh. My. Gosh. Amazing. Went here to indulge with some dessert and ordered the peanut butter pie. This pie was super yummy and rich and delicious. Glad I ordered milk to go with it (which was served in a tall frozen mug! Such a nice touch!) I have had a lot of peanut butter pies and this one topped them all. If you love chocolate and peanut butter, this is the pie for you. I enjoyed the atmosphere, laid back and casual. Staff was nice. They have a good many beers for sale from different countries, which I thought was cool and some European chocolates and candies for sale too. Only in Jacksonville for this week but will be going back here to try them for lunch!

I am going to give this place 2 stars because I have visited here THREE TIMES and EVERY TIME I visit, the service is SO SLOW. Okay, I'm done with caps now, but seriously. The food is good, but the service will have you sitting for forever just waiting for your drinks/food. During my first visit to this establishment, our waiter even forgot to ring in our appetizer?! That has never happened to me... It ended up working out because our sandwiches were larger and more filling than we expected. Which is awesome, but the food really is the only reason why I came back to this place. Very very very slow and poor service from him. During my second visit, it was loud, stuffy, and we received slow and poor service again. I then started to regret our decision of coming back. Yet, the food is still very good. The only reason why I visited the third time is because I was craving something light, and I had a COUPON :-) Buy one entree, get one free. You can't beat that! Our waitress and trainee were very nice, and were more delightful than our past servers, but they were still a little slow... I will say, if it weren't from them, my third trip would've been my last trip. I would recommend this place to someone if they were looking to pick up a couple sandwiches for to-go, but I would not recommend for dining in. Also, they have a small liquor store inside. many wines and craft beers from Europe inside. They have pre-made cakes, as well as a small selection of candies near the check-out register.

Eh. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of this place, and the beer selection (and beer list challenge) is fantastic, great selection of international beers. However, the food always comes out looking gross, like it was out of the microwave. Service almost always leaves something to be desired as well. I would come back, but would probably sit at the bar without ordering food. If you are seeking European beer this is a great place to be, but otherwise it is far from special.

Been going for several years, love the food. However, our last visit was well much different as we had issues with the service and establishment. Service was terrible even though not much was going on. I saw our waitress do everything except wait on us. When we finally ordered (which took about 20 minutes), we asked for gluten free crackers in place of the appetizer crackers(we have always asked for this without any upcharge). She said and I quote "There will be an up charge for the crackers, you ok with that?". I said no we were not ok with that. We have always ordered this type of appetizer with GF crackers. I asked that she let her manager know and to come over. When we received our food, we also asked for extra dressing but never saw that. When she came back to give us the check, the extra charge was on there but we never spoke to a manager nor did he/she ever come over to speak to us. We went to pay the cashier and ask about the charge. The cashier was standoffish and told us that was their policy. We kept talking and she said that they don't charge for the GL wraps (which they clearly state on the menu and we have always paid that upcharge). I told the cashier ESC always has and the charge was also on our bill. How can you argue that when it was on the bill? We sent a message to ESC via their website and the reply was "that's our policy". Long time customer no more. Sadly disappointed that ESC can't be known as a GF friendly restaurant without nickel and diming.

Been here many many times. Comfort food, Euro deli food, Vegan food, hundreds of beers and wines, it's all very good and reasonably priced. Especially love the Shakti vegan food. Not easy to fond that sort of thing. On the other hand we also love the fat Reuben variations. The healthy options are well marked on the menu and are also real good. It's a lil annoying that they refuse to punch their frequent flyer app if you use a coupon. Smacks of a lack of customer appreciation. Not that you feel that from the servers. They're all nice. The wine selection is nice and it only costs 10$ to have a bottle with dinner. That's sort of special.

This is one of my favorite places in Jax Bch, and any E-Street is a favorite place in Jacksonville. I've been eating and drinking at E-Street since the early 90's. The menus (beer and food) have changed as times and tastes dictate, but the goodies have always remained. E-Street restaurants are family owned and operated with a mother, brother, or sister at each location. They know what they are doing, work hard and it shows.

First time at this location. Walking in I disliked the smell, sort of like slightly sour carpet. It took about 5 minutes before a server came to the table. He was very helpful, funny and attentative after that. I was with friends who come there often and they suggested the Turkey Parisian. I was a little nervous about the raspberry sauce but wanted to try something new anyway so I ordered it on the side. It. Was. Amazing! I put the sauce all over it. I got American potato salad as a side but it was not good. I will now try any sandwich with brie on it. Will certainly be back!

I've been down this street before. For a Valentine's lunch date, it was a departure from our normal street (Maple, that is) to try to have something a little on the lighter side. E Street offers a wide variety of sandwiches: heros, clubs, reubens, pita pockets, and German Sausage as well. Their dessert case is one to be ogled at as well. Their beer list is impressive and they have a good selection of local brews on tap. Thumbs up for being able to order a 10 oz vs. a full 16. Their food is good, but I can't say I've had anything truly blow me away. When I heard one of the soups was Chicken & Dumplings, the only other decision I had was on what half of sandwich I wanted. I went with the chicken salad on toasted rye. The sandwich was stacked high with chicken salad that was full of large chunks of chicken (which I appreciate) and just the right amount of mayo in the dressing. The soup was delicious and warmed me up on this cold day. Could have used a little more spice (pepper or something) for my personal preference, but not too shabby at all. We passed on dessert today as I had to make it back to the office for a meeting, but I've loved all the cake slices we've ever had in the past. Next time I'm in the mood for a good sandwich and I want to keep it local (which I always try to do), I'll have to remember E Street is the place to be.

Stopped in for lunch today. This is a nice little place didn't seem to busy. Menu had a lot of choices but went with the turkey bacon wrap. Seemed like forever for us to get our food. Alot longer then u would think for a sandwich type place. When food arrived everything looked good and was fresh. The wrap was a little dry for me. Wish it woukd have had some mayo or pesto or something just to give it some extra punch. The chips were good and service was on par. I love getting schmitt-faced here. And by that I mean I like eating Dunderschmitt Heroes and drinking craft beer at this restaurant. European Street is a cool local restaurant/bakery/beer store. There's nothing quite like it in Jax. There are probably 4 or 5 around town with the same menu. E street specializes in heroes, clubs, pitas, Ruebens, and monster German wieners - sandwiches of sorts. I've never had my socks blown off per se, but I can honestly say I've never had anything I didn't like. My go-to is the Dunderschmitt, which is a double order of smoked pastrami, prosciutto, ham, spicy mustard and cream cheese - which I like to get on the honey dark-wheat roll. It's a game changer. The Reubens are STACKED with corned beef, pastrami, turkey or a combination of meats. I'd highly recommend those. They also have a similar sandwich called the Blue Max that is killer. It's about 4 inches tall and loaded with smoked pastrami and hot mustard, corned beef, melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and blue cheese dressing. The beer selection is good. They have about 20 taps at this location which rotate local beers, national craft brands, and a decent selection of Belgian beers. They do a 2-for-1 happy hour every day until 7PM, which actually makes it an affordable spot to swill normally expensive brews. The wait staff is always really friendly. The bar staff is great as well, and is quick to help make recommendations for beer. Check out the selection of bombers and 6-packs on the way out. Cheers!

And, oh by the way, they also have an beer selection that is Bang On! Final thought: White Russian (sandwich, not the drink)--get it. Don't argue, just do it. It was amazing!

This is a good option if you are hungry and looking for some traditional sandwiches or German dishes. Most of the options are very good here. Opt to get a sandwich on a croissant - they are delicious. The princess Anna or chicken salad sandwich are great. I also love that you have the option to get a German sausage plate. I feel like pretty much anyone can find something here. Oh, and tons of beer options!! The downside? The tabouli bread bowl is awful and the beer cheese soup is way too thick. Other than that, you probably can't go wrong here!

I've heard this place was quite the hangout twenty years ago. There are tired, fake purple flowers lining the dusty window sills and a slight stale odor in the air where new plastic menus seem to be the only updated items in the place. My friend and I visited the other day and we both ordered salads. My companion's spicy buffalo chicken salad was overwhelmed by jalapeños and seemingly canned chicken, obviously the lettuce wasn't properly washed or cut, and it was very gritty. She tried valiantly to eat her lunch, but after a while she said she was unable to enjoy it and asked for the menu to order something else. The nice server named Michelle, came back from the kitchen saying the kitchen manager would still be charging her for the salad as she ate too much of it. My friend had not asked for it to be removed from the tab and was a little surprised to hear this. The slider sandwich she subsequently ordered to eat, arrived with mayo which she had asked to have removed. Not a very good experience, and not only that, the reluctance of the management to make the customer happy just left us wanting to leave and never return. We won't be back, very unsatisfactory.

We found European Street Cafe wile visiting Jacksonville and looking for something different. The interior is part market with a huge selection of beer, wine and sweets. There is a wooden bar stuck awkwardly in the front with the back set up like a cafeteria style dining room. Its too bad the dining room doesn't look more like the bar with dark furniture and dimmer lighting. I did like that they have happy hour going on most of the time, or at least until 7pm. Our server was new, he admitted it was his third shift, and was no help at all when it came to picking menu items. Train your employees more thoroughly European Street Cafe! He was a nice guy, and I'm glad he admitted his ignorance rather than blunder through it, but he was useless in negotiating the large beer selection. We started with the beer cheese soup which hit the spot on this chilly evening. The soup was just OK, the best part of it were the pretzel bread sticks that came with it. I ordered the croissant cordon bleu with a side of American potato salad. Both were very good and filling. My husbands muffaletta was so big he had to take half home, something I rarely see him do! European Street Cafe was going to be a four star review... until we tried their desserts. We picked a sample of their delicious looking cakes to try. We took home a key lime cheesecake, Italian lemon cream cake, an giant Oreo cookie, and a huge slice of chocolate cake. We also picked up some Dead Guy Ale and Arrogant Bastard Brew. My husband said the cream on the cheesecake tasted like it had turned and gagged after taking a bite. My Italian cream cake had a good flavor but was dry (like it had been sitting out too long). The chocolate cake was best of the three but was also on the dry side. The cookie wasn't great either. All of the desserts looked better than they tasted. I learned that they are not made in house. Maybe between delivery of the cakes and the restaurants open display the items dry out? Either way I'd stick to the food and beer and avoid the sweets. Too bad...

European Street at the Beaches has been a staple for me since I moved to Jax about 7 years ago. The atmosphere is great for a casual Lunch or Dinner. The restaurant has a wide variety of menu items and has beer choices from around the world to try. The desserts are delicious and made in house. I would suggest European Street for a casual weekend lunch or dinner for anyone.

I think I've been to just about all European streets and love it. My usual is the fiery turkey sandwich on the dark wheat, it's amazing. Turkey, spicy mustard, jalepenos...all served with potato chips. I don't eat chips often so this is my exception....and they are so worth it. Other things I've tried are the Rueben, pizza thing (pepperoni, cheese, chiabatta), pretzel sticks, etc. They also have many beers to choose from. The atmosphere is laid back, a good place to have a convo with friends. The prices are cheap. It's just worth the trip.

This location is closest to my house, and it's a great place to sit outside and drink the day away. Just far enough off the beach that you won't ever really feel crowded, with a covered patio to keep you shaded from the scorching Florida sun. The staff is always friendly and service is consistent, especially when they know you get drunk and leave big tips! I've never had bad food at E-Street, but probably 3/4 of the menu is sandwiches (or wraps, pitas, etc.) which unfortunately often suffer from TMI: Too Much Iceberg (aka "Subway Syndrome"). For grain-avoidant folks they do have generously portioned salads (both meaty and meat-free) and even a few raw vegan options. I usually make a meal out of the warm brie & apple slices. They also sell bags of locally made kale chips (at the front counter, ironically placed near bags of candy). Speaking of the front counter: looks are deceiving. The whole display of desserts looks super impressive -- it does remind me of European confectionary shops -- but to be honest everything I've sampled has let me down in some way. Mostly because it feels like something I could make at home. I've definitely made better rice krispie treats back in the day, and the tiramisu I had was actually dry. The cookies are big enough to satisfy a sweet tooth, and pretty good if you ask for them microwaved, but the flavor is unremarkable. So anyway, the food is all right, but I think the main reason you should come to E-Street is for beer. They often have beers on tap that can be somewhat hard to find on tap in Florida, like (some of my favorites) Bell's Two Hearted, Delerium Tremens, and Hitachino White Ale. If you find a beer you really like, you can buy as much as you want in bottles to take home, since they have a small grocery section in the restaurant. E-Street also offers a few varieties of cider and gluten-free beer. If you're a drunk who needs a challenge, there's The List. Travel around the world with beer and drink everything on The List to win fame and glory (and some kickass rewards). Exceptionally tenacious drunks are rewarded with... more lists. Protip: Nobody likes Samichlaus, but drinking it is a rite of passage. Get it out of the way ASAP.

Yum!!! Walking into European Street Cafe, it's a lot different than I imagined. It's part bar, part restaurant, part bakery, and little market. The street cafe has a very whimsical vibe with wicker basket decorations and flowery European paintings. For appetizers, PLEASE get the jumbo German pretzel sticks with the boursin spread or cheddar cheese spread. The ciabatta & boursin sandwich appetizer is also really good, if you're into olives. It's definitely something light, but very delicious to eat and not get full before your main course. Brie and beef is a great hot sandwich! Get the au jus for an extra $0.50, and it's so juicy! Get the M&M explosion cookie! Just microwave it for 30 seconds and it tastes like it was freshly baked! The staff was super friendly and fairly attentive to refills and bringing the food around.

Quaint beach location deli with a very interesting & unique menu from your everyday sandwich deli. Experience eclectic decor in a fun casual environment. Lots of international and hobby beers, but very limited wine selections. A small shopping area for beer & fun candies, desserts. Two walls lined with booth seating are only soft seating with tables and wicker padded chairs filling the dining area, a wee bit crowded together. The bar at this location seems smaller than the 5points location bar. Music plays throughout, sounds like older soft rock selections. Our table was a little sticky, had crumbs from previous diners, but it was just after Saturday's lunch rush - everything else appeared clean, staff was busy cleaning during our meal. Food is always consistently good and well portioned. Offerings of apples, grapes, potato salad, or chips for sandwich sides. Up charges of 50 cents for some. We tried the Jumbo Salted Pretzel Sticks w Beer Cheese - very delicious, hubby favorite. I choose the Blue Max Ruben and hubby had the Ham & Turkey. A must try!! ENJOY!!

I don't know why I always forget about this place?! They always have great food and service. Not to mention, their dessert area always has me drooling!!! We stopped in for dinner Friday night and started with the pretzel appetizer. Man o man were those things good. The pretzels were hot and soft and salty....just how they should be. And the cheese spread that comes with it ain't too shabby either. I ordered the Muffaletta and a side of German Potato Salad. It was delicious. I ended up having enough to even take home for lunch the next day. I will definitely remember them from now on. They are officially back on my radar.

First time at this location. Walking in I disliked the smell, sort of like slightly sour carpet. It took about 5 minutes before a server came to the table. He was very helpful, funny and attentative after that. I was with friends who come there often and they suggested the Turkey Parisian. I was a little nervous about the raspberry sauce but wanted to try something new anyway so I ordered it on the side. It. Was. Amazing! I put the sauce all over it. I've been down this street before. For a Valentine's lunch date, it was a departure from our normal street (Maple, that is) to try to have something a little on the lighter side. E Street offers a wide variety of sandwiches: heros, clubs, reubens, pita pockets, and German Sausage as well. Their dessert case is one to be ogled at as well. Their beer list is impressive and they have a good selection of local brews on tap. Thumbs up for being able to order a 10 oz vs. a full 16. Their food is good, but I can't say I've had anything truly blow me away. When I heard one of the soups was Chicken & Dumplings, the only other decision I had was on what half of sandwich I wanted. I went with the chicken salad on toasted rye. The sandwich was stacked high with chicken salad that was full of large chunks of chicken (which I appreciate) and just the right amount of mayo in the dressing. The soup was delicious and warmed me up on this cold day. Could have used a little more spice (pepper or something) for my personal preference, but not too shabby at all. We passed on dessert today as I had to make it back to the office for a meeting, but I've loved all the cake slices we've ever had in the past. Next time I'm in the mood for a good sandwich and I want to keep it local (which I always try to do), I'll have to remember E Street is the place to be.

Stopped in for lunch today. This is a nice little place didn't seem to busy. Menu had a lot of choices but went with the turkey bacon wrap. Seemed like forever for us to get our food. Alot longer then u would think for a sandwich type place. When food arrived everything looked good and was fresh. The wrap was a little dry for me. Wish it woukd have had some mayo or pesto or something just to give it some extra punch. The chips were good and service was on par. Will definitely be back to try out more of there menu just wasn't blown away this time.

I love getting schmitt-faced here. And by that I mean I like eating Dunderschmitt Heroes and drinking craft beer at this restaurant. European Street is a cool local restaurant/bakery/beer store. There's nothing quite like it in Jax. There are probably 4 or 5 around town with the same menu. E street specializes in heroes, clubs, pitas, Ruebens, and monster German wieners - sandwiches of sorts. I've never had my socks blown off per se, but I can honestly say I've never had anything I didn't like. My go-to is the Dunderschmitt, which is a double order of smoked pastrami, prosciutto, ham, spicy mustard and cream cheese - which I like to get on the honey dark-wheat roll. It's a game changer. The Reubens are STACKED with corned beef, pastrami, turkey or a combination of meats. I'd highly recommend those. They also have a similar sandwich called the Blue Max that is killer. It's about 4 inches tall and loaded with smoked pastrami and hot mustard, corned beef, melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and blue cheese dressing. The beer selection is good. They have about 20 taps at this location which rotate local beers, national craft brands, and a decent selection of Belgian beers. They do a 2-for-1 happy hour every day until 7PM, which actually makes it an affordable spot to swill normally expensive brews. The wait staff is always really friendly. The bar staff is great as well, and is quick to help make recommendations for beer. Check out the selection of bombers and 6-packs on the way out. Cheers!

Followed by the bourbon pecan pie....geeze it paired well with coffee for breakfast. They pretty much have any cake you can think of along with huge cookies and rice krispy treats. Even a candy section as well. I was in hog heaven, after searching for places to grab dessert after dinner our server at a nearby restaurant pointed us in this direction. Glad I ordered milk to go with it (which was served in a tall frozen mug! Such a nice touch!) I have had a lot of peanut butter pies and this one topped them all. If you love chocolate and peanut butter, this is the pie for you. I enjoyed the atmosphere, laid back and casual. Staff was nice. They have a good many beers for sale from different countries, which I thought was cool and some European chocolates and candies for sale too. Only in Jacksonville for this week but will be going back here to try them for lunch!

I am going to give this place 2 stars because I have visited here THREE TIMES and EVERY TIME I visit, the service is SO SLOW. Okay, I'm done with caps now, but seriously. The food is good, but the service will have you sitting for forever just waiting for your drinks/food. During my first visit to this establishment, our waiter even forgot to ring in our appetizer?! That has never happened to me... It ended up working out because our sandwiches were larger and more filling than we expected. Which is awesome, but the food really is the only reason why I came back to this place. Very very very slow and poor service from him. During my second visit, it was loud, stuffy, and we received slow and poor service again. I then started to regret our decision of coming back. Yet, the food is still very good. The only reason why I visited the third time is because I was craving something light, and I had a COUPON :-) Buy one entree, get one free. You can't beat that! Our waitress and trainee were very nice, and were more delightful than our past servers, but they were still a little slow... I will say, if it weren't from them, my third trip would've been my last trip. I would recommend this place to someone if they were looking to pick up a couple sandwiches for to-go, but I would not recommend for dining in. Also, they have a small liquor store inside. many wines and craft beers from Europe inside. They have pre-made cakes, as well as a small selection of candies near the check-out register.

Eh. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of this place, and the beer selection (and beer list challenge) is fantastic, great selection of international beers. However, the food always comes out looking gross, like it was out of the microwave. Service almost always leaves something to be desired as well. I would come back, but would probably sit at the bar without ordering food. If you are seeking European beer this is a great place to be, but otherwise it is far from special.

I stopped by a few days ago with my boyfriend since we were in the area and pretty hungry. It wasn't too crowded, and found a comfortable table quickly. Our waitress, Kelly, greeted us within a minute of sitting down. It took me several minutes to finally decide what I wanted, because so many items sounded good! I ended up going with the Muffaletta (ham, salami, provolone, swiss, olive oil, and olive salad mix on ciabatta roll), and it was a great choice! My boyfriend went with the White Russian club, and he enjoyed it as well. The second we walked in I saw the bakery case and knew I was going to have to try something. Upon our waitress's opinion we tried the maple sweet potato cheesecake. Oh my goodness, it was AMAZING! It was a huge slice too, we couldn't even finish it. It was a great dinner and I know we will be back again for another delicious meal.

Been going for several years, love the food. However, our last visit was well much different as we had issues with the service and establishment. Service was terrible even though not much was going on. I saw our waitress do everything except wait on us. When we finally ordered (which took about 20 minutes), we asked for gluten free crackers in place of the appetizer crackers(we have always asked for this without any upcharge). She said and I quote "There will be an up charge for the crackers, you ok with that?". I said no we were not ok with that. We have always ordered this type of appetizer with GF crackers. I asked that she let her manager know and to come over. When we received our food, we also asked for extra dressing but never saw that. When she came back to give us the check, the extra charge was on there but we never spoke to a manager nor did he/she ever come over to speak to us. We went to pay the cashier and ask about the charge. The cashier was standoffish and told us that was their policy. We kept talking and she said that they don't charge for the GL wraps (which they clearly state on the menu and we have always paid that upcharge). I told the cashier ESC always has and the charge was also on our bill. How can you argue that when it was on the bill? We sent a message to ESC via their website and the reply was "that's our policy". Long time customer no more. Sadly disappointed that ESC can't be known as a GF friendly restaurant without nickel and diming.

Been here many many times. Comfort food, Euro deli food, Vegan food, hundreds of beers and wines, it's all very good and reasonably priced. Especially love the Shakti vegan food. Not easy to fond that sort of thing. On the other hand we also love the fat Reuben variations. The healthy options are well marked on the menu and are also real good. It's a lil annoying that they refuse to punch their frequent flyer app if you use a coupon. Smacks of a lack of customer appreciation. Not that you feel that from the servers. They're all nice. The wine selection is nice and it only costs 10$ to have a bottle with dinner. That's sort of special.

This is a good option if you are hungry and looking for some traditional sandwiches or German dishes. Most of the options are very good here. Opt to get a sandwich on a croissant - they are delicious. The princess Anna or chicken salad sandwich are great. I also love that you have the option to get a German sausage plate. I feel like pretty much anyone can find something here. Oh, and tons of beer options!! The downside? The tabouli bread bowl is awful and the beer cheese soup is way too thick. Other than that, you probably can't go wrong here!

I've heard this place was quite the hangout twenty years ago. There are tired, fake purple flowers lining the dusty window sills and a slight stale odor in the air where new plastic menus seem to be the only updated items in the place. My friend and I visited the other day and we both ordered salads. My companion's spicy buffalo chicken salad was overwhelmed by jalapeños and seemingly canned chicken, obviously the lettuce wasn't properly washed or cut, and it was very gritty. She tried valiantly to eat her lunch, but after a while she said she was unable to enjoy it and asked for the menu to order something else. The nice server named Michelle, came back from the kitchen saying the kitchen manager would still be charging her for the salad as she ate too much of it. My friend had not asked for it to be removed from the tab and was a little surprised to hear this. The slider sandwich she subsequently ordered to eat, arrived with mayo which she had asked to have removed. Not a very good experience, and not only that, the reluctance of the management to make the customer happy just left us wanting to leave and never return. We won't be back, very unsatisfactory.

We found European Street Cafe wile visiting Jacksonville and looking for something different. The interior is part market with a huge selection of beer, wine and sweets. There is a wooden bar stuck awkwardly in the front with the back set up like a cafeteria style dining room. Its too bad the dining room doesn't look more like the bar with dark furniture and dimmer lighting. I did like that they have happy hour going on most of the time, or at least until 7pm. Our server was new, he admitted it was his third shift, and was no help at all when it came to picking menu items. Train your employees more thoroughly European Street Cafe! He was a nice guy, and I'm glad he admitted his ignorance rather than blunder through it, but he was useless in negotiating the large beer selection. We started with the beer cheese soup which hit the spot on this chilly evening. The soup was just OK, the best part of it were the pretzel bread sticks that came with it. I ordered the croissant cordon bleu with a side of American potato salad. Both were very good and filling. My husbands muffaletta was so big he had to take half home, something I rarely see him do! European Street Cafe was going to be a four star review... until we tried their desserts. We picked a sample of their delicious looking cakes to try. We took home a key lime cheesecake, Italian lemon cream cake, an giant Oreo cookie, and a huge slice of chocolate cake. We also picked up some Dead Guy Ale and Arrogant Bastard Brew. My husband said the cream on the cheesecake tasted like it had turned and gagged after taking a bite. My Italian cream cake had a good flavor but was dry (like it had been sitting out too long). The chocolate cake was best of the three but was also on the dry side. The cookie wasn't great either. All of the desserts looked better than they tasted. I learned that they are not made in house. Maybe between delivery of the cakes and the restaurants open display the items dry out? Either way I'd stick to the food and beer and avoid the sweets. Too bad...

I think I've been to just about all European streets and love it. My usual is the fiery turkey sandwich on the dark wheat, it's amazing. Turkey, spicy mustard, jalepenos...all served with potato chips. I don't eat chips often so this is my exception....and they are so worth it. Other things I've tried are the Rueben, pizza thing (pepperoni, cheese, chiabatta), pretzel sticks, etc. They also have many beers to choose from. The atmosphere is laid back, a good place to have a convo with friends. The prices are cheap. It's just worth the trip.

Yum!!! Walking into European Street Cafe, it's a lot different than I imagined. It's part bar, part restaurant, part bakery, and little market. The street cafe has a very whimsical vibe with wicker basket decorations and flowery European paintings. This location is closest to my house, and it's a great place to sit outside and drink the day away. Just far enough off the beach that you won't ever really feel crowded, with a covered patio to keep you shaded from the scorching Florida sun. The staff is always friendly and service is consistent, especially when they know you get drunk and leave big tips! I've never had bad food at E-Street, but probably 3/4 of the menu is sandwiches (or wraps, pitas, etc.) which unfortunately often suffer from TMI: Too Much Iceberg (aka "Subway Syndrome"). For grain-avoidant folks they do have generously portioned salads (both meaty and meat-free) and even a few raw vegan options. I usually make a meal out of the warm brie & apple slices. They also sell bags of locally made kale chips (at the front counter, ironically placed near bags of candy). Speaking of the front counter: looks are deceiving. The whole display of desserts looks super impressive -- it does remind me of European confectionary shops -- but to be honest everything I've sampled has let me down in some way. Mostly because it feels like something I could make at home. I've definitely made better rice krispie treats back in the day, and the tiramisu I had was actually dry. The cookies are big enough to satisfy a sweet tooth, and pretty good if you ask for them microwaved, but the flavor is unremarkable. So anyway, the food is all right, but I think the main reason you should come to E-Street is for beer. They often have beers on tap that can be somewhat hard to find on tap in Florida, like (some of my favorites) Bell's Two Hearted, Delerium Tremens, and Hitachino White Ale. If you find a beer you really like, you can buy as much as you want in bottles to take home, since they have a small grocery section in the restaurant. E-Street also offers a few varieties of cider and gluten-free beer. If you're a drunk who needs a challenge, there's The List. Travel around the world with beer and drink everything on The List to win fame and glory (and some kickass rewards). Exceptionally tenacious drunks are rewarded with... more lists. Protip: Nobody likes Samichlaus, but drinking it is a rite of passage. Get it out of the way ASAP.

I love the Beer Cheese Soup here! It is double delectable-delectable!! This thick, cheddar bliss is strongly enhanced with what must be a dark beer. As a result, this soup has tremendous flavor. The only negative is that the bowl is too small for my liking. I also love the complete eye candy as you walk into this location. No, I am not necessarily referring to the servers per say, but to the bakery counter on the right!!! Holy Snickerdoodles! The cookies here are slightly refrigerated here and are huge. They are about an inch thick and very soft, just short of a cake consistency. This is exactly how I like to top off a great Reuben at European Street Café. We always bring cookies home when we hit this beach location we love them so much. One of my favorite things to do is to order either the Sicilian Sampler or Warm Brie and sit outside in the little courtyard. Foodie Zen! Good food and service here, prices are low and they have one heck of a bakery!

This is one of my favorite places in Jax Bch, and any E-Street is a favorite place in Jacksonville. I've been eating and drinking at E-Street since the early 90's. The menus (beer and food) have changed as times and tastes dictate, but the goodies have always remained. E-Street restaurants are family owned and operated with a mother, brother, or sister at each location. They know what they are doing, work hard and it shows.

I usually love this place but this location has a horrible manager: I ordered the Mediterranean Sampler. It did not taste good at all so, I told the waiter that I wanted to exchange it for another item. About 10 minutes later a lady came out this was the exchange: Manager: "Since there was nothing wrong with the food I am going to have to charge you for the sampler and whatever else you order." Me: "It didn't taste good, I should not have to pay for it." Manager: "Well, this is out policy. OMG- $3 mimosas and fantastic sandwiches on a covered patio on a beautiful Jax Beach day?! I'm so there... We made our first European Street Cafe trip last week and it was awesome. We sat out on the patio as it was a BEAUTIFUL day and were very excited to hear that it was happy hour! 2 for 1 beers and dollar off mimosas. Umm yes please. Hubby and cousins ordered blue moons and I went for the mimosa. Service was awesome, wish I could remember her name to recommend but I was in a food-mimosa haze. I ordered the Turkey & swiss croissant- turkey, melted swiss, lettuce, tomato, & mayo served on a croissant. There are not words. It was SO good. Melty, buttery, meaty, cheesy- everythingggy! Hubby ordered the Princess Anna- grilled chicken, bacon, melted cheese, lettuce & tomato. Also fantasmic. And then when we thought we had already discovered our new favorite lunch spot, I walk inside and notice the array of baked goods. Oh I was in trouble. Had to get me a chocolate chip, pecan cookie to go and it was theeee best. Basically- great food, great service, cheap drinks- what more could you ask for? Go, go now, run dont walk!

I've been going to several "E Streets" for years now, and I never walk (or stumble) away unhappy. The beer selection, both bottles and drafts, are top notch, and the food always satisfies. We now frequent the Jax Beach location, and they have continued on the tradition. The desserts are pretty good, too.

Ok, so I give it two stars because it's not a restaurant I think about going back to. It was nothing special in my mind. I tried two different sandwiches and a dessert. I did like the drink selection and enjoyed some really great beer microbrews. But other than that, nothing special.

Overall good experience with my first visit to ESC on Beach Blvd. Service was good and food was tasty. Well priced for what is served. The only detractor was the kielbasa on my sandwich was a bit chewy, possibly from soaking a touch too long in broth. Trivia was firing up as I was leaving for those interested.

This could be one of the best.... Had the Muffaletta and some pretz sticks. bag the cheese just get the sticks, cheese comes cold in a plastic cup, don't bother muff was great. Great beer selection, but you'll pay... $7 for limited selection of 22 oz drafts. All this was fine, but if you sit in the bar area but not at the bar be prepared to flag down the bartender..... You've been warned.... Now enjoy!

I hate to hit this place with 2 stars because I really want to like them, but the problem is there's a disconnect between concept and execution. The decor starts out promising (bar and bakery area) and quickly deteriorates to mid-80s Morrison's, heavy on the mauve. The atmosphere shoots for a European vibe but doesn't really get there. The bar is straight-up gorgeous and the bakery counter is lovely, but the rest just kills all their hard work. I have never set foot in that place when there has not been at least one exceptionally ill-behaved child screaming or running or otherwise behaving in a fashion that would have resulted in pink cheeks had I done it growing up. If you have such a child, hurry here, as you will be welcomed warmly by your people. If you do not, well, you'll feel like you do. Every time I've been there, we've had to wait a ridiculously long time for just about everything. The servers are always nice, polite, and helpful when I can find them, but they are missing more often than I would like. The beer selection is unparalleled and I would go just for that. The beer cheese soup is fabulous if you can get it at a reasonable temperature. The first time we went, it was like napalm and almost caused serious harm. However, it's a cheese soup so we ought to have had better sense than just to shovel on in without a temp test. Once it cooled down all at the table LOVED it. Unfortunately, though, the second time we got it, it was barely room temperature, so much so that the cheese was still shredded and not melted. I sent it back, and got the exact same thing on the second try, so I gave up and chewed the chunks. Not nearly as tasty. Next time I might just get the food to go so I can nuke it if necessary, because it really IS good when it's perfectly hot and melty and delicious, especially with a lovely pretzel breadstick. Speaking of those, they're delicious, but skip the cheese spreads. Yuck. Processed "cheese food" all the way, and refrigerator cold to boot. Take the breadsticks to go and smear on some Laughing Cow and you'll be happier. The hummus platter is huge and worthy of sharing, but nothing particularly outstanding in terms of quality. My guess would be a purchased hummus product but I can't swear to it. It's served with some nice veg and warm pita, so I'm not overly offended. I had a monster German wiener once and a sandwich I can't specifically recall the other time, and neither really caused a strong reaction. The monster wiener is a massive hotdog, and it is truly massive, but not exceptionally high-quality. Given the choice I'd just get Nathan's next time. The sandwiches ARE good though, just not so exceptional as to cause me to gush. If you can't find something you like on the menu, though, there's just no pleasing you, because it is HUGE. My last, and perhaps most important bit of advice, is to WALK PAST THE BAKERY. DO NOT STOP. The cookies are stunning. They are tempting. They look like the very promise of childhood sugar-soaked fantasies come to life. The reality is that the cost approximately $4 apiece and taste like that funky refrigerator smell that you buy baking soda to prevent. Talk about a letdown. I can eat darn near anything sugary and I had to give up and throw mine out. Sigh. Quick and dirty: go for the beer, the beer cheese soup (careful with the temp), and a sandwich. If you're looking for something else this may not be your best choice.

Always a favorite place in Jacksonville to go. There are lots of locations around Jacksonville so I suggest you check them out. This location offers lovely outdoor seating in a beach atmosphere and is very casual. To start, the beer is selection is fantastic with an extensive list (about four pages, small print) from around the world. They also have a grocery where you can buy specialty beer, wine, and candy. They also have a rating system for the beer that hasn't steered me wrong yet. Very helpful. They also have happy hours every day, and a bar, so if you're just ready to grab a good beer with some friends, I would recommend this place. Dining in, you can go one of two ways with the menu, trying their deli sandwiches or their selection of German sausages. It really depends what you like, but you'll be able to find something to enjoy on the menu. I always get their brie appetizer as well, because the way they present it with freshly baked bread and apple slices really is a treat when coming here. The brie is of excellent quality and it's always a fight with whoever I'm with for the last bite. My roommate always gets their version of the classic pastrami on Rye, the Blue Max sandwich. I had it the last time we went and I have to say that it's pretty incredible. Their sauerkraut is the best, not too wet, yet maintaining its perfect flavor. All sandwiches are served with a pickle and chips, and are very substantial. The service was great and our waiter was very friendly and patient with us. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was lively and well staffed. A solid four stars for this establishment.

Eh..... I rarely eat here because the food is not that memorable. I had the turkey rueben, and it was good. My wife and I split a mozzerella and tomatoe salad...it was ok. And she had a turkey salad.....again, it was just ok. We were starving so we ate everything, but we would not have gone if we didn't have a coupon. So..... we probably won't go back unless we are desperate or have a coupon. Good beer selection, though.

I didn't know that this place had other locations until we sat down. This location is close to where we live. We found out about this place by just driving down Beach. Anyways, I really enjoyed this place. My husband and I went for dinner, but we think its more of a lunch type place cause they mostly sell sandwiches and salads. The service was excellent, the food came out quickly and hot, and our drinks kept getting filled. Nice. The inside is very interesting. When you walk in, to your left is a full on bar (which they have happy hour from 2-7pm everyday) and to your right they sell cookies and cakes/pies. The restaurant portion is in the back. And they do have outside seating. What we ordered: I had the Brie and Beef which was Melted French Brie cheese, roast beef, lettuce, tomato and onion on Italian ciabatta roll. Served hot. This sandwich was very very good =0) I enjoyed it. It comes with potato chips on the side. My husband had a cup of chicken and dumpling soup which was very good, and the Blue Max Sandwich which was Smoked pastrami and hot mustard, corned beef, melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and blue cheese dressing. Served hot. My husband loved this sandwich! All dishes are pretty big, so I recommend sharing a dish. Prices arn't too bad either.

Just ate here on Tuesday for the first time. I had a Bratwurst and Pastrami sandwich and slice of Italian Lemon cream cake. The food was excellent. Dessert prices are a little steeper than I expected but I'll definitely be going back to sample more of the menu!

Love it!! We come here all the time to eat. It's definitely a favorite for everyone. The scoops of chicken salad with crackers are great for picky children. Sandwiches are huge, always enough to take home for later. It's laid back with a great beer and food selection. There's something on the menu for everyone. Also excellent desserts. They have specialty candy, wines and beers and food items for sale at the front too. I always get a chocolate bar on the way out.

This place is definitely on our list of go to places for lunch. The portions are big and the sandwiches stuffed with meat. Prices are good too. I usually get the roast beef and it is delicious. The sandwich has so much meat that my fiancé and I split and it's just enough food. Mind you we pay the extra dollar fifty to get our own portions of chips and pickle. I really love the pretzel bread which comes with the soup but I think there's also an appetizer. So so good. Not everything I've tried is wonderful but they have other great dishes worth going back for. Definitely a great lunch spot. Oh and you have to try their house mustard which is awesome. They even sell it, it's that good.

Another great example of terrible service. Walked in and waited for 5 minutes (sign says to seat yourself), and no one bothered to come by. Let's see how long I will wait... Ok, so after 7 minutes, some guy yelled at me from about 20 feet away as he was walking somewhere else, but I was typing. Then he came to my table and put the menu down and in a weird way, said, "hi. Welcome." He described the specials and said, "hollar if you need anything." Wow, this place has vegan food (which I like), but an apathetic attitude in place of customer service. I am going to try their other two locations to see if the others are just as bad on service (I have been to one other and their service was bad too.) This establishment is one of the worst for service I have ever seen. I can't imagine how they can stay in business. DEAR MANAGEMENT: I work as a customer service consultant/trainer, and I would be happy to help your restaurants. I change $100 per hour and I am confident I can at the very minimum create a plan for you to improve.
